The primary goal is for the Home to establish self-sustainability. This has been challenging due to restrictions in place to stop the spread of COVID-19, only students in their final year have been able to continue their studies onsite at the centre with the main school still closed. As of December 2020, there are 940 active COVID-19 cases in the region.
A water tank is now fully functional at the Home, ensuring the children who live there have access to lifegiving, clean water throughout the year. Construction began in late 2019 with excavations, digging into the hill where the tank was to be built. Students from the Home helped to clear the space, preparing the site for the concrete foundations. The foundation was blessed by former project Director, Father Raymond De Souza SJ blessing in early December 2019, with the students from the Home present and participating in the special moment.
