About the project

The present pastoral ministry of Coober Pedy Inland Mission has many different aspects. It involves ministry within the town ship of Coober Pedy, the surrounding cattle stations which extend into Northern Territory and the peoples and communities comprising the Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara (APY) lands.

This project aims to support Aboriginal communities in the area by providing much-needed resources, including bedding, clothing, food and cool drinks.

Who is supported

Those supported include the Antakirinja Matu-Yankunytjatjara peoples local to the area and those who travel through it.

COVID-19

Prior to COVID-19 restrictions, a monthly prayer service was held for Aboriginal Elders in their aged care home managed by the local Aboriginal Umoona Council.
